How to Clean White Shoes
Often when people move out from one place to another, they hire a firm that provides end of tenancy cleaning services. In this case, there could pop up some lost items that you forgot you have ever owned. That could be some cloth that you’ve bought a long time ago or a pair of nice shoes. In this article, we will tell you how to maintain the white color of your shoes for a long time.
The white shoes are part of the wardrobe of almost every one of us. Sporty, elegant, textile or leather, cleaning them sometimes is a real challenge, especially when spots appear on them. Sometimes the spots are so tough to remove that their cleaning is almost impossible, which means we can no longer wear our favorite white shoes. However, there are a few tricks to try at home, that are proven to help with stains.
This is the most commonly used method for cleaning white sports shoes, especially when they are entirely made of textile. Dissolve a small amount of bleach in water and apply it to the textile where the spots are. Leave it for about 15-20 minutes and then wash the stain with a liquid detergent or only with water.
Bread soda also works successfully when you clean white shoes, because it acts as a natural bleach. Make a paste of baking soda and water, and apply it on the stains. You can also add the soda to the detergent that you will use when washing your shoes.
Lemon juice can be used to clean the spots on the shoe surface or the inside part. Cleaned from inside with lemon, the sports shoes not only remain clean but also successfully removes the unpleasant smell from them.
Apply lemon juice with a little water on the stain and let it work for a few minutes. You can put the shoe for a few minutes in the sun to dry. The lemon combined with salt will also quickly solve the stain problem.
-If the shoes are made from leather
First, with a damp cloth wipe off the dust and the mud from the shoe. The leather shoes are not like those of fabric and can’t be washed.
Apply a small amount of toothpaste on the leather and use a damp cloth or toothbrush to clean the stain. The paste should get slightly foamed. Once the stain is cleaned, remove the paste remains again with a damp cloth and after that, dry it.
-If the shoes are made from suede
Buy a brush of suede and always brush your shoes before and after you go out with them. You will be amazed how much dust and dirt you can remove with a few simple movements. Talc also helps to absorb oily stains. Sprinkle the stained area, leave it for one night and brush it in the morning. Buy also a spray of suede that will protect them from damage for a longer time.
